Today is Transgender Day of Remembrance. And don't forget that this Sunday is AZ TDoR. Hope to see you there. I don't know how much I'll be able to participate due to the migraines, but I figure I can at least come and sit with my eyes closed.
Being as I'm on disability, I'm broke. So I looked up a couple handy tips and tricks here: http://www.studiolighting.net/studio-lig
I found this article particularly helpful: http://www.studiolighting.net/killer-hea
I don't know if any of you reading my art journal here actually would be up for it, but I'd be more than open to any productive critique on my recent self portraits that you'd like to give. I don't want to hear "your photography sucks, give up" because that's just not productive. I'm learning, it will improve. What I do really need is for people to give me specific critique and suggestion for improvement. Such as the light is too harsh, try using a diffuser.

LEGO Spiderman likes hanging around with friends, daredevil behavior, trees, and marshmellows. I can only assume he will also like Yellowman.
So... I've been enviously watching people with their Yellowman portraits and decided to take one of my LEGO Spiderman who is currently hanging from a keychain in my fruit tree. I AM apparently being sent a Yellowman of my own, so took this picture in anticipation of his arrival. I'd been thinking about doing 365 days in the life of the Holy Ninja of Goodness, but he seems to be using his super ninja powers of invisibility. I'm sure he will turn up when he wants to, but I found this LEGO Spiderman in his place. So I took it as a sign and this is the first of what I assume will be many portraits of this tiny guy. Perhaps he and yellowman will star together in their own 365? We shall see

I'm working on a series of paintings, but since I made my first test stencil on Nov 5th, I did a Guy Fawkes stencil first. Here are the stencils I have made so far:

Sometimes when you shave your head people call you cueball, and magic 8 balls are fun, so I combined the two. Think I make a good magic cueball?
I made this in GIMP 2.0, but it gives me an idea for a future piece. I think I'm going to transfer the picture I took of the pharmacy wall onto a piece of wood, then print this out, and use it to make a stencil, then spray paint it street art style onto the piece. I have a few other ideas like this as well, maybe I'll do a series.
Check out my eye color. I did NOT edit the color on that. SWEET!
Happy Almost Halloween
I wanted to do a photo with my face painted and this rainbow sarong on my head yesterday for Rainbows Fest, but I ended up being too sick to do any makeup or much creative portraiture.
Gratitude for the day:
My smartphone rocks. Yesterday I had to turn my phone off because of the migraines. I even ended up going to bed early, and missed a few calls from friends. But this morning I called them back while enjoying the nice weather and shade on the back patio. Even got out the rainbow sarong and took my self portrait with it like I'd wanted to do yesterday (tho I'm still really not up to playing with face paint) still, can't say how grateful I am for weather which allows me to sit on the patio. And it's just going to keep getting better through fall and into winter, because Phoenix has THE best winters. I love living here.

May we come together under the harvest moon and draw together in unity, love and gratitude. I know it's a little bit late, but what can I say, the weekend comes when it comes. We each celebrate in our own time and our own way.
Today I got to spend time with Carlie. I'm grateful for how much she loves me and supports me no matter how my health is, or what my abilities may be. I'm grateful for these new goggles which she drove over to Tempe for, because I was finally able to get some time outside staring up at the moon.
Dr Kasian suggested I spend some time staring up at the moon to continue moving towards healing. However with a migraine, staring into the moon can be a bit daunting, especially one as bright as this one! So I put on my new goggles and went out into the backyard. May the harvest moon bring healing not only to myself, but also to all those in need. May the cells of our body be reborn into the healthy cells they were created to be.
Fetishfalls.com for goggles like these.

Let's see, what are some things I am grateful for today... I am grateful for all my adorable pets and the way they make me laugh... For eating yummy Italian food with Carlie and Patch, phone calls from friends, and a quickly repaired refridgerator. Oh and I'm grateful for glitter even tho it did not turn out the way it usually does for me, I had fun with makeup this morning.

I agree to love and enjoy my life as much as possible!
There are always a lot of lights in art galleries, something that is difficult when one has a migraine. I have had pretty constant migraines here in Orange County. I keep hoping I'll have a day without.
But it was awesome seeing Amy and my art being enjoyed by people, and getting to know other creative individuals in Orange County. Mysterium's grand opening did in fact go well it seemed, as lots of people were there. So many actually that people were sitting outside talking and eating. The live musician was awesome.
OK nuff said...off to bed.
This was created from "Falling Down the Rabbit Hole Again" and is inspiring some ideas in me for today's SP. You can view the original photo here: www.flickr.com/photos/sean-michael365/38
As you can see, the portion of the picture I chose is not the portion actually focused on in the original, so it's a bit blurry. But I plan to make a clearer version in the future
I am considering downloading the free trial of this program: http://www.filedudes.com/kaleido_fl
I regretted not taking my Nikon D40x with me to LA when I went to visit Christian and Lise, because this photo, tho very cool and surreal, does not do the skies over LA justice.
THE SUN WAS RED when viewed throgu hthe clouds. Somehow I managed to get a picture when the sun looked white hot instead.
Cell phone pic edited on flicker. Original photo is here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/sean-micha
This was the first self portrait I created today. But I wasn't 100% happy with it at the time, so I created another. Now that I've sat with it for a while, I actually like the symbolism behind the fact that the only clear thing in the picture are the various aspects of me
Check out today's self portrait. I think i'm goin to do a series of related photos actually, because I feel very much like I've fallen through the looking glass into a magical world of some kind here in Orange County.
